Cables

At Harrisonville Telephone Company, keeping people connected is at the very center of everything we do. HTC is proud to say that after a century in business, we continue to be dedicated, now more than ever, to delivering world class technology to the communities we serve while providing the same personal service our customers have come to know and appreciate. It is all a part of our commitment to be: Powerful. Dependable. HERE.

Recently, to better support our customers, we completed an extension of high-speed fiber optic data lines between Waterloo and Valmeyer. This extension brings us up to 18,000 strand miles of fiber serving Monroe and parts of Randolph counties.

Expanding our high-speed Internet infrastructure allows HTC to continue to deliver the fastest, most dependable speeds, reaching all the way up to 1,000 Mbps in certain areas. Most importantly, we’re keeping customers satisfied as technology continues to evolve.

Fiber connectivity offers significant advantages including:

  • Bandwidth. Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data that can be transferred. Since fiber is digital, it allows for increased data throughout your network, meaning you and your neighbors won’t experience lags when you’re all downloading something at once.
  • Next Generation Technology. Fiber uses light instead of electricity to transmit data, so the frequencies and data capacity are much higher and data can flow over great distances without energy loss and interference. Soon, more and more of our world will be connected via fiber, so being ahead of the game is a huge benefit.
  • Better for Business. According to researchers, 82% of businesses use the cloud for data storage and site hosting. Fiber Internet allows for faster access to data and applications stored in the cloud, resulting in fewer delays for sales and communication with customers.
