A Peek at Our Week…

Phonics

We finish sight words this week and will review all phonics skills by playing Phonics baseball the remainder of the week.

Reading

We will take our LAST theme test this week.  This test will focus on all the skills learned in this unit.

Spelling

We will end the school year with a Spelling Bee featuring all words learned throughout the year.

Religion

We will focus on prayer this week.  We will discuss the importance of prayer in our relationship with God and different ways we can pray.

Math

We will finish this week by adding and subtracting two digit numbers.  We will focus on word problems and money.

Science

We begin our last unit on oceans this week.  We will learn all the oceans in the world.  We will also focus on the different habitats in the ocean including the tide pool, kelp forest, open sea, and deep sea.  We will finish the week with outdoor centers featuring ocean-related activities.

Thoughts and Prayers

I am sure that your children spilled the beans, but my husband and I are currently in the process of adoption.  We will be adopting a newborn from the United States but have no idea when our baby will be born.  Please say some prayers for us this summer that all happens smoothly.

THANKS

Thank you for such a great year.  I had so much fun seeing all the learning happening with your child.  They have taught me a thing or two as well.  Thank you for all the support you have shown this year as well.  I couldn’t have done it with out your help.

CLEAN UP TIME

We will be cleaning out our desks and sending home projects this week.  Please send in a plastic bag for your child to carry all the extra things home in.  Book bags will help, but having an extra bag will get the rest safely home where you can decide what to keep or pitch.  The Handwriting, Religion, Math, and Reading workbooks will be sent home.  These are great to work on during the summer to keep skills fresh.

Sand

Thank you to Mrs. Sainz, Mrs. Swindle, Mrs. Stearns, Mrs. Hermann, and Mrs. Young for contributing to purchase sand for our ocean centers for Thursday.  We will have just a beach of a time!

Have a Wonderful Week and a Sensational Summer!
