Helping Projects

The Food Pantry provides supplemental and emergency hunger relief by providing a 3 to 5 day supply of canned goods, perishables, bakery goods, and meat items.  To the extent that donations make possible, we also provide toilet paper, toothpaste, and other personal hygiene items that are not available under the Food Stamp program.

A Senior Food Delivery program for seniors ages 60 and over was started in 1998.  The delivery program also includes persons with physical and/or mental disabilities.

In the past, JNM served an average of 1000 area family members per month.  This number increased significantly in 2005, with the closure of several Roman Catholic parish churches in south St. Louis that formerly provided some food help.

Donations of food, toiletries, and paper goods are gratefully received from individuals, churches, businesses, and other groups. Cash donations are also helpful, so that food items can be purchased in quantity that are needed to round out dietary needs that may not be met at particular times with donated food.
