1. Memo of Introduction: Using the standard format, introduce your portfolio with a professional memo addressed to the Writing Assessment Committee. Your memo should address the central question, how have you changed as a writer this semester? Describe your writing projects and your processes of composing them. Share the highlights of your semester's work. Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses as a writer. Refer to specific situations you encountered and use specific examples from your work to illustrate your points. Because you are addressing an audience of professionals who will decide your fate and who do not know you or your work, describe yourself, your projects, and your composing processes in detail. Be honest, professional, descriptive, and persuasive as you write this self-analysis. Remember this will create a first impression.
2. Two Multi-Paragraph Essays: Choose two essays which show your best writing. These essays should demonstrate extensive revision. They should be at least two to three typed, double-spaced pages with a title. Use the computer and your brain to proofread them so they are error-free.
