The upcoming Fourth of July Weekend is sure to be a big one – we’re celebrating America’s 250th birthday this year!

Local Celebrations for America’s 250th Birthday

You can bet many members of our team will be out and about in their local communities this holiday weekend! Will we see you at one of these Fourth of July celebrations this year?

America 250 Celebration in Waterloo, IL

On Saturday, July 4, the City of Waterloo will host a community event as part of America 250, a nationwide celebration.

Waterloo’s America 250 Celebration will include:

  • 2.50K Fun Run & Parade – The Fun Run/Walk will kick off at 9 a.m., immediately followed by a patriotic parade through downtown Waterloo. Proceeds from the Fun Run/Walk will benefit the Waterloo VFW and the St. Paul UCC Youth Scholarship Fund.
  • Family Festival – The fun continues until 2 p.m. with a festival in Waterloo’s Courthouse Square, featuring live entertainment, vendors, activities, and more

4th of July Events in Columbia, IL

Columbia, IL will host a day-long celebration on Saturday, July 4:

  • America 250 July 4th Parade – Columbia will also take part in the nationwide America 250 celebration with a July 4th Parade. The parade, which will begin at 10 a.m., will be led by the annual C.R.O.W.N. 4th of July Bike Parade and will also include community businesses and organizations. Children of all ages can participate in the bicycle parade and decorating contest.
  • Annual July 4th Celebration & Fireworks – The parade will end at American Legion Park, where the celebration will run throughout the day with games, activities, live music, and delicious food and drinks. The town’s annual fireworks display will be held at dusk.

A Mid-Summer Celebration in Valmeyer, IL

From July 2 through July 5, enjoy a free weekend of fun at the annual Valmeyer Jaycees’ Mid-Summer Celebration at Bosch Park. You’ll find food, baseball, drinks, live music, and more for the whole family.

Scheduled current daily events include:

  • Thursday, July 2 – A youth baseball game will be held at 6 p.m., with the Mon-Claire Home Run Derby kicking off at 8 p.m.
  • Friday, July 3 – Watch Mon-Clair League Baseball and the Brent Roever Memorial Volleyball Tournament beginning at 9 a.m., stick around for a lighted ATV and golf cart parade at 8:30 p.m. Live music by Bad Influence will also begin at 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 4 – Mon-Clair League Baseball will continue at 9 a.m., with an RCTPA Lawn Mower & ATV Pull happening at 10 a.m. Live music will be played by Dos Amigos (5 p.m.) and Dr. Fong and the Long Brothers (8:30 p.m.).

The annual Colossal Fireworks Display will begin at dusk.

  • Sunday, July 5 – To finish up the weekend, enjoy more Mon-Clair Baseball (10 a.m.), a tractor show (8 a.m.), America’s 250th Parade (1 p.m.), and a bags tournament (2 p.m.).
