Soon, fireworks will light up the sky in honor of one of the year’s biggest celebrations – the Fourth of July!

Local Fourth of July Celebrations in 2025

Our team loves to support our local communities, including attending exciting events in our area. Will we see you at one of these Fourth of July celebrations happening in Monroe County, IL this year?

A Fun-Filled Fourth in Columbia

On Friday, July 4, you’ll find several ways to honor our nation’s independence:

  • C.R.O.W.N. Bike Parade – Kick off your July Fourth with this annual bike parade and children’s bike decorating contest. The parade – open to the entire family – begins at 10 a.m. at Columbia’s Main Street Abbey and ends at Metter Park with games, activities, and food and drink. Registration is $5 per child.
  • 47th Annual July 4th Celebration & Fireworks – Start your day at 11 a.m. at this free event featuring food and drink vendors, bingo, washers, a kloepper tournament, and live music. The party, hosted at the American Legion Park, wraps up at dusk with a stunning fireworks display.

A Mid-Summer Celebration in Valmeyer

From July 3 through July 6, enjoy a free weekend of fun at the annual Mid-Summer Celebration at Bosch Park. You’ll find food, baseball, drinks, live music, a bounce house, and more!

Daily events include:

  • Thursday, July 3 – Head on down for youth baseball games and other activities starting at 6 p.m.
  • Friday, July 4 – Watch Mon-Clair League Baseball beginning at 9 a.m., stick around for live music (starts at 5 p.m.) and the 50th Annual Colossal Fireworks Show at dusk.
  • Saturday, July 5 – Come out for the Sand Volleyball Tournament (9 a.m.), RCTPA Lawn Mower and ATV Pull (9 a.m.), Mon-Clair League Baseball (10 a.m.), and more live music (8:30 p.m.).
  • Sunday, July 6 – To round out the weekend, enjoy more Mon-Clair Baseball (10 a.m.), a tractor show (8 a.m.), a bags tournament (12 p.m.), and a parade (1 p.m.).

A New Fourth of July Event in Waterloo

Celebrate the Fourth of July in Waterloo with the first annual Red, White & Blue in the Loo at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

This two-day festival will have tons of fun for all ages, including:

  • Thursday, July 3 (4 p.m. – 10 p.m.) – The evening will include live music, food and drink vendors, and an exciting fireworks display, plus activities like axe throwing, a silent disco, a mechanical bull, inflatable playland, and more.
  • Friday, July 4 (10 a.m.) – Line the streets for a free patriotic parade in downtown Waterloo.
  • Friday, July 4 (12 p.m. – 10 p.m.) – The day will include autocross, a cornhole tournament, a silent disco, inflatable playland, a DINOSAUR! Experience, and more, plus food and drink vendors and live music. In the evening, experience another beautiful fireworks display.

There is a fee to enter both days, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the JB Patriot Pantry and the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois.
