When customers step into HTC’s offices, they’re always greeted with a friendly face. That’s because customer service representative Brenda W. is always happy to help with Internet, phone or TV services or questions.
“Customer service is about so much more than selling,” says Brenda. “It’s about providing the best possible service, helping people and building relationships. I really enjoy my job.”
Brenda has been building relationships at HTC for the past ten years, and there’s nowhere she’d rather be. After working as a secretary and project manager at Ralston Purina in St. Louis for 25 years, she’s glad to finally be working in the town where she lives.
“I see people out at a local store or the County Fair and they’ll recognize me as the lady who helped them lower their bills,” says Brenda. “I think many people like knowing there are faces at our company, and that those faces belong to local people who live in their community.”
In the HTC office, Brenda works to get customers’ phone, TV, and Internet service set up, helps them with billing questions, and explains how packages like Internet and TV bundles can save them money. Some customers come in when they lose their remotes, and some want to know how to make their high-speed Internet service faster. If Brenda can’t get them what they want or answer their questions, she finds someone in the office who can.
“With HTC, there’s no waiting on the phone for hours to get help,” says Brenda. “I think that’s why we have a lot of customers who come back to us after trying the impersonal out-of-town companies. We use a personal, one-on-one approach, and it works.”
